Since 1990, bezev has been committed to a just, social and sustainable world in which all people have equal opportunities for development and participation. The organization, based in Essen, Germany, promotes inclusive development and strengthens the equal participation of people with impairments and disabilities in development and humanitarian initiatives.

bezev is committed to the goal of sustainably improving the living conditions of people with disabilities. Because bezev sees everyone as responsible for this, the organization works to ensure that people with disabilities in both the Global North and the Global South also become actors in sustainable development. Therefore, bezev produces inclusive educational and information material and conducts training courses on the implementation of inclusive education for sustainable development (ESD).

However, there is a need for action on many levels and so the team is also active in the areas of awareness raising and political lobbying. Through intensive engagement, bezev achieved, together with other organizations, the substantial integration of the topic of inclusion of people with disabilities in the Agenda-2030 with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.

bezev is also a recognized sending organization for the development policy volunteer service weltwärts and offers this explicitly inclusive.
