The world needs a creative and innovative young generation with an inner compass to navigate socially and globally aware through unchartered territories.
The world needs a creative and innovative young generation with an inner compass to navigate socially and globally aware through unchartered territories. THEIA INTERATIONAL e.V., based in Germany, built an organic growing framework with three interrelated spaces: 1. global education school remote workshop programs and school partnerships projects; 2. youth life career capacity building travel program including coaching and internships with TI- lighthouse partners in Europe, the Asia Pacific Regions and Brazil; 3. peer-to-peer-network with project spaces and live-workshops facilitated and mentored by role models of future career fields.
The TI-programs and projects are designed to challenge the youth by posing problems that encourage them to think critically and reflect about their individual actions and the current trends in society. Students are exposed to traditional and contemporary innovations, from around the world, that are designed for ecological and human flourishing. Therefore, TI blends Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Global Citizenship Education (GCE), Environmental Education (EE) and International Technology Education (ITE). The core competencies from each vertical are merged and presented through hands-on, student-centered activities, which are facilitated live and/in-person by domain experts with pedagogical skills. The competencies addressed in the programs and projects include but are not limited to; awareness of global issues, considering multiple-perspectives, interpersonal skills, emotional regulation, foreseeing challenges, critical thinking and problem-solving. And the topics covered include water scarcity, zero-waste, renewable energy sources, sustainable fashion, biodiversity, organic farming, and nutrition.
Incrementally, students are given an opportunity to internalize the necessary soft skills, intercultural, environmental and technological awareness that will enable them to envision a better, more sustainable, and compassionate world. And finally become the young leaders with a global mindset to think and act beyond borders.
